I wasn't the last one to post

Hey Fam Damily,
I saw that Joni thought she was being funny and had a poll to see who would be the last to post. Hate to disappoint you all, but it ain’t gonna be me. And Joni, next time you decide to list me as a candidate on one of your poll’s, just remember who has your name for Christmas this year.
School is keeping me busy. It’s quite a bit different than undergrad and it has taken some getting used to. I usually feel like I’m a walking ball of confusion and nothing is ever definite or clear cut anymore. At school we can never answer anything with a “yes” or a “no”. Instead it is always “It depends on…” or “Maybe…”The other day, the lady who runs the cafĂ© here at school asked me if I wanted a doughnut. I caught myself instinctively start answering “It depends…” but I caught myself just before I finished with “on whether you are going to make me pay for it or not.” They do some kind of voodoo brainwashing here that somehow turns you into the weenie lawyers that all the jokes are about.
I just turned in a final term paper for one of my classes. It was on common-law marriage in Utah. I think if I had to read one more Utah Supreme Court Case about people “living in sin” I might have to move to another state. I now have to start getting ready for the exam season. I have two, 8 hour exams coming up in early December and another 4 hour exam. Unlike undergrad when I was able to BS a grade or two with projects or assignments, in law school my entire grades are based on the final exams. So I may be hulled up for the next few weeks studying.
For Thanksgiving, Omar, Gaylee, and I had planned to go out to eat since Mom and Dad were going to be out visiting Jason and Jenn. Soon afterward, Aunt Bette decided to fly up for the afternoon to eat with us too. Then Brittany decided to come down this way as well. Brittany is adamant that we’re going to make Thanksgiving Dinner, and I told her we would---but that was just to get her to come. We are really just going to kidnap her and go out to eat anyway. She shouldn’t care….she doesn’t even like turkey.
Omar is in his busy season at work—making candy for thanksgiving and Christmas. He has to be at work by 4:30 AM every morning. But the fringe benefits of having your boyfriend work at a candy store and having access to all the chocolate you could ever want is well worth the price of being woken up that early.
As you can tell, my writing is starting to ramble. My brain’s a bit frazzled from the past two weeks of writing that dumb paper for 12 hours each day. I’m attaching a few pictures from a trip to Bryce Canyon that Omar and I took during my fall break last month.

Are any of my out of state siblings coming home for Christmas?

Love you all,

Shane

Good luck on your exams I didn't know you had such rigorous testing this first semester, i hope it goes well. Tell Omar "hello" and remind him about the words retired and retarted since aunt Bette is coming up.
